The Surrender
The Surrender is a short film that follows the story of a trail runner who has found a unique way to connect with the natural world through his love of running.
The film reflects on his personal journey with mental health struggles and his search for authenticity and meaningful connection in his life. We witness the profound impact that running and nature have on his well-being and join him across the Patagonian and Peruvian Andes as he rewrites his story. Along the way, we meet fellow runners, neuroscience experts, and members of Canadian and Peruvian indigenous communities, who convey the experience of self-discovery and nature connection in a holistic way.
Ultimately, The Surrender serves as a call to action to break free of the narratives that are forced upon us by others, and to own the power that we have as individuals to write our own stories - whatever they may
